i'm still trying to piece the interviews together...i added in a convo w/ a transman, but unfortunately i didn't have the opportunity to go somewhere quiet w/ him. so there's people talking in the background... i liked a lot of what he said, but i need to rerecord...
I really enjoyed listening to this material. I think that it could be edited down a bit and the transition between sound pieces could be a lot smoother. I feel like I need to be guided a little bit more as a listener but I'm curious and excited to see where you are going to take this piece.
I like the way you start the piece. It immediately grabs my attention! You can definitely cut some stuff out but keep the converse tennis shoe part! This is a really interesting subject and I like that you used a lot of different voices. Maybe cut out the part about the McDonald's toys? Nice work : )
Very nice piece so far, Alex. You might want to look into toying with that mix a little more—I'm becoming slightly distracted with the differences in volume. Some interviews are the same volume, but they aren't -all- consistent. Also, feel free to keep editing the piece down! You've done a great job so far. Keep it up.
Great piece! (and yes, I did sample Blondie). I have to say, when I read your entry I thought the background voices would be super distracting and actually didn't really find them to be at all. By all means, re-record, but I sort of enjoyed the "on the street" feel to this interview.
I think you could probably edit the piece down a bit, but other than that, keep it up!
It is a bit too long. I did find the one voice/ segment to be the strongest, and s/he seemed the most aware and and expressive. Maybe that segment could be integrated differently, more throughout to tie things together? I dont know... I very much like the ending.
